Base Tune

Essential Maintenance

$75

Refresh your equipment with light base resurfacing, precision edge maintenance, and a fresh hand-applied hot wax.

  • Light belt base resurfacing
  • Edge sharpening and polishing
  • Universal hot wax, scraped and brushed
Technical Details

Light belt resurfacing prepares the base without a full stone grind. This process refreshes the running surface and can address minor surface irregularities when appropriate.

Edges are sharpened and polished while preserving the established bevel geometry unless additional corrective work is recommended.

Universal wax is applied by hand with an iron, then scraped and brushed for a ready-to-ride finish.

Best suited for routine maintenance when significant base correction or restoration is not required.

Not included:

  • Stone grinding
  • New stone-ground base structure
  • P-Tex repair
  • Structural repairs

Full Tune

Complete Tuning

$105

A comprehensive tune featuring precision stone grinding, all-mountain base structure, edge finishing, and hand-applied hot wax.

  • Base inspection and preparation
  • Precision stone grind with standard all-mountain structure
  • Edge sharpening and finishing
  • Universal hot wax, scraped and brushed
  • Minor P-Tex repairs to non-core-exposed base damage
Technical Details

The running surface is inspected for wear, base-flatness irregularities, and damage. Precision stone grinding prepares the base, addresses suitable flatness issues as needed, and produces a standard all-mountain structure.

Edges are sharpened and finished while generally preserving established bevel geometry.

Universal hot wax is applied, scraped, and brushed.

Includes minor P-Tex repairs to non-core-exposed base damage. Larger areas, core shots, and structural damage require assessment and a separate quote.

Core shots, edge damage, delamination, significant base correction, and other extensive repairs may require separate assessment and additional quoted charges.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE TUNE

Precision goes beneath the surface.

A properly prepared base is only the beginning. Base flatness, stone-ground structure, edge geometry, and wax selection all influence how your snowboard or skis perform. Understanding how these elements work together is the foundation of a precision tune.

Denver ski & snowboard tuning FAQs

How much does a ski or snowboard tune cost in Denver?

Tuning packages start at $75 for a Base Tune, $105 for a Full Tune, and $165 for a Performance Tune. Individual services like waxing and edge sharpening are also available starting at $20 — see Tuning Packages above for full pricing.

What's included in a full tune?

A Full Tune includes base inspection and preparation, precision stone grinding with a standard all-mountain structure, edge sharpening and finishing, hand-applied hot wax, and minor P-Tex repairs to non-core-exposed base damage. Larger repairs are assessed and quoted separately.

What's the difference between waxing and a full tune?

Waxing on its own addresses glide only — a quick machine-applied or hand-ironed hot wax without grinding or edge work. A Full Tune is more comprehensive: it includes stone grinding, edge sharpening and finishing, and hot wax, addressing the base, edges, and glide together.

How often should I tune my skis or snowboard?

It depends on how often you ride and the conditions you ride in. A good general signal is when the base starts to feel slow or hazy, or the edges feel dull or inconsistent. Our Tuning Science guide covers when a tune is worth it in more detail.

How are repair prices determined?

Repair pricing depends on the type and extent of damage. Core shots, edge damage, and delamination are individually assessed from the photos you submit with a repair inquiry, and any quote requires your approval before work begins.

What services can I book?

Choose from Base, Full, and Performance tuning packages, plus waxing, edge maintenance and selected specialty services. Some repair work may require an individual quote.
